We tear off to the deck so we can see what we are working with, replace any rotted sheathing, then rebuild the system: ice and water shield at the eaves and valleys, synthetic underlayment across the field, new flashing and pipe boots, GAF architectural shingles, and proper ridge and intake ventilation. Ventilation is the most commonly skipped step in this trade, and skipping it is what cooks a roof early.

How Long It Takes

Most residential replacements in McHenry County run one to two days depending on square footage, pitch, and how many layers are coming off. We tear off and dry in on the same day, so your home is never left open overnight.
